Grinch Candy Jar
*Bringing Xmas fun to recycling crafts*

Wow!  This Grinch Candy Jar is sure to bring excitement to children everywhere.  What a terrific way to recycle plastics and craft Christmas decorations all at the same time.

Are you ready to choose to reuse by creating this green, cave-dwelling grouch?  Put on some Christmas carols and lets get jingling ...

Grinch Candy Jar

What's Christmas without the Grinch? This Grinch is kind though and likes to share the candy he holds. I thought that was a nice little twist to put to the grouchy green fellow.

Wouldn't Cindy Lou Who be very proud of his generosity and kindness?  Perhaps with our creative help his heart will grow much larger.

This craft will provide lots of fun for children as they see an old empty container turn into a wonderful Christmas decoration that can be filled with yummy candy.  What child doesn't love candy and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas?"

It is also a neat way to bring the idea of recycling to children. Through making this Grinch they will be able to clearly see how you can take a piece of trash and turn it into a treasure. They will be learning about recycling without even realizing it because they will be too excited making a Grinch.

Materials:

  • empty container
  • primer
  • green, yellow, black paint
  • paint brush
  • black marker
  • candy

Instructions:

1. Make sure the empty container is clean and completely dry.

2. Spray the container with some primer. This will help stop the paint from peeling off the container.

3. Draw the Grinch's face on the container with a black marker.

4. Paint the container (it may require a few coats of paint).

5. Outline the face with a black marker.

6. Fill with candy.

Give the gift of giving with the Grinch this year! Wow, I never thought I would say that.
